Descreen MAF? IAT Mod?

I've been looking into more free mods for the LT1 and I've seen this one come up a few times. How exactly do you do it and are they any gains from it? I've also seen a lot of stuff about the IAT mod but several people said it could screw up the car down the road. Any thoughts?

Ok now as far as descreening the MAF all you do is take it out and use a nail or screwdriver then go around the edges of the screen and it will pop loose. Be careful doing so though cause if you screw up your MAF it's like 300 bucks to replace it. As far as the IAT mod goes there's two different versions out there. First one is putting a resistor in the IAT to trick the computer into thinking the air outside is cooler than it really is. When air really is cooler and the IAT picks it up the computer advances the timing. The thing is if it's 100 degree's outside and you resistor is saying that it's 55 degrees then there's a good possiblity that you'll damage the motor by detonation. The 2nd way of doing it is relocating the IAT further away from the engine giving you more accurate readings of the temperature outside the car. Hope this helps

I wouldn't mess with the MAF. You are not going to gain anything and you run the risk of something hitting the calibration device(don't know the specific word) that the screen would normally block. NOT WORTH IT.
