Dent in the oil pan

I'm in the middle of a header install at the moment. A good buddy and I just finished the mounts on Sat. Well, the previous weekend I tried to do the mounts myself...big mistake. However, its fixed, so I'm not worried about that.

The thing I'm worried about is that the first time I jacked up the motor, I used a soft-back cover book between the jack and the oil pan :(. I know, bad move. Now there is a small dent in the bottom of the sump. At its worst point, its not even 1/4" in depth (the dent that is). Should I be worried that I damaged the oil pump pickup or anything else? Or did I get very fortunate? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry 'bout one that small.

Is it touching the pump at all? If its really close to the pump it could affect how much oil it can suck in.

I'm not sure if it is touching the pump or not, as I have not pulled the pan (and would prefer not to). How far is the pickup from the bottom of the sump usually?

I wouldnt worry about it...your pump should not be in danger

So, you guys think it should be ok? I'm told there's about 1/2-3/4" clearance between the bottom of the oil sump and the pickup for the oil pump. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks everyone, I'm breathing a little better now :)
