CR with LE3 heads

Can anyone give me a ballpark as to what the CR would be with this 383 kit?

If you are talking about the pistons that come with that kit then I cant give you an honest figure but I will say you can run that bad boy on the street. You need to find a piston with around a 0cc to -5cc dish.. -5cc is stock btw.

What is the size of the chamber in the LE3 heads? For some reason I was thinking 52.5 but I highly doubt that even in the ballpark. If that was the case, I got 11.27:1, which is just about what I was shooting for.

A zero deck, flat top LE setup on a 383 is around 11.8:1

Re: CR with LE3 heads

So a flat top is 11.8:1, so having that 16cc dish should drop that ratio, right?

Re: CR with LE3 heads

If you are going LE3 you want compression. I have a 16cc dish in mine right now, and plan to tear down and put flat tops in as soon as possible. Also speak with Lloyd and Bret about what pistons to run as that can have an effect on valve size selection and cam lift. Just because each LE 'package' has baselines, they are customized per setup and the items stated are only a baseline to go from.

Did you Zero deck the block and what is the thickness of the gasket you are running?

Re: CR with LE3 heads

I have 16cc dish pistons, I believe the pistons are .020" in the hole, a mrgasket .026" thick gasket, 55cc combustion chambers.
yields roughly 10.7:1

I will say again static compression ain't s***. DCR is what counts and Deenasty is to low on his DCR.
PM me your cam spect's and head CC's and I will figure it for ya.

Re: CR with LE3 heads

Thats the problem....I don't know what those are exaclty. I'm going to be getting the LE3, I haven't done it yet. I'm in the process of planning all this out, and thats where I ran into the problems.

Re: CR with LE3 heads

I know, thats exactly what I'm doing right now. I've been emailing backand forth with Lloyd to see what he has to say, I figure I can't go wrong asking him.
