could opti cause this??

Im very well sure it could. I first tried fixing this problem by replacing the coil, and it seemed to fix it, temporarily.

The car takes forever to start most of the times. Very seldom it will start right up. Also it backfires and hesitates sometimes at 2500. Sometimes at 5000. The plugs wires seem to be fine. I replaced the coil again and now the coil is about 3 hours old. Im going to replace the fuel filter here in the next hour or two and put my other o2 sensor in since im running a brand new one and an old one for the time being. Is it possible any of those could be the problem? If not my next buy will probably be the accell opti from summit for 100 bucks. Also when it takes a long time to start, sometimes it revs to almost 2 grand and slowly will make its way back to 800. Im so tired of this problem and im running out of ideas.

Before i replaced the coil it was reading a bad igniton something another, i honestly cant remember. And both o2s were reading lean. I havent made it to my buddy's work to put it back on the scanner yet. I should have the o2s and fuel filter done in the next hour or two. Any other ideas to check why im under my car?

We could all probably use more info about your car...details help, what has and has not been done...

First, I doubt your problem is the fuel filter, but who knows...

have you sprayed water on the wires and looked for blue flashes that would indicate arching...and I would also double check the condition of the wires especially where they are closer to the block and manifolds, look for burns and frays...

it could be the opti...how many miles on your car, is it the original opti...how old are the plugs...original fuel pump???

also, if it were me I would not be getting anything but a GM optispark, reason being is most of the aftermarket ones (cheaper or more expensive, MSD, Accell) are no where near as reliable it has seemed...GM ones are $300 new from Summit, its WORTH IT...also get yourself a waterpump if you get an opti, especially if its the original water pump...if you put it back on you run the risk of it leaking and ruining the new opti and then you are back to the beginning...
