I just got my timing cover on, putting back on the opti, hub, and harmonic balancer. The water pump is still off. What i wanna know is would it be okay if started the car like that. I know that i should watch the temp guage and all. I just want to check for any leaks before i bolt the waterpump back on and all.

I've done this on several LT1 cars to check for optispark operation and leaks. Make sure that you don't leave it working for more than a few seconds as it will heat up fast.

 

Okay that sounds cool, i just dont want to put the hub, balancer and pump all back on if its gonna leak.
