Cooling problem......HELP!!!!

I recently installed a Procharger. Since, whenever there is boost the temp goes up to redline. It's not a detonation problem that I'm aware of. I do have ground effects in the front, which I'm sure aren't helping. 160 stat is installed, and the fans are programmed at 160. All cooling lines are bled, coolant is good. What do I do next?? HELP

It could be a lot of things. I'm not sure what changes you made when you put on the procharger, but here are some general cooling problems.

thermostat staying shut? Can check it by dropping it in hot water.

do you have the proper thermostat? A lot of people put on the generic small block chevy one, which is incorrect. My car had an incorrect thermo when I bought it, and that caused it to run hotter. If you have the long one, then you are ok.

waterpump ok? (check the weep hole)

Any junk blocking the radiator?

Are the fans really turning on?

Maybe try the forced induction forum for more suggestions....

The car ran at 180 with the stat that was in it. Procharger was put on....and the problem started. I put the 160 in(the hypercrap one), same results. Fans are coming on, the moment I stop the car I can literally watch the gauge drop as the car cools. As far as the water pump, It worked fine right before the procharger, don't see why it isn't working now. I tried in the forced induction forums, but a lot more people view the tech pages.

Can your fuel system keep up with the new fuel demand? If not, it may be running lean, which would cause extra heat to be dumped into the engine bay that may build up. I'm not a forced induction expert by any means but this is just an idea.

The procharger system runs a fuel management ststem, which right now is running dead rich until I can get it dyno tuned. With that being said, the car should be running cooler being rich.
