Converting two bolt main block to a fourbolt main...
Is it possible to convert the block over to a four bolt main with the motor still installed? Other than dropping down the K-member is it possible to do it? Just curious if anyone had tried to do it.

Not possible. It'll need to be align bored/honed in a machine shop.

why would you want to, switching from a 2 bolt to a 4 bolt doesn't really matter untill you are making a good amount of power, enough power where you would have to have the motor out to accomplish it.(excluding power adders)

Clearly he already has that part solved, in order to do enough engine mods to require a 4-bolt in the first place... |

You could probably do ARP studs without removing engine and be as strong as stock 4 bolt.

Best listen to them. It was just a thought. I did it on a old SBC. But didn't know about torque plates and align honing. Just wanted something harder to blow up. ;)

That is accurate. It needs to be align honed if you install studs. Rich |
Ok, I will just build a spare block and stroke it then pull the original motor and swap everything over and reinstall the new motor. Thanks
