Comp-R lifters
Ok, i was wondering if i could run stock lifters on the cc306 cam with 1.6 rockers and comp 941 springs. The info on the springs are as follows:
* Seat pressure: 135 lbs. at 1.750 in. * Open pressure: 357 lbs. at 1.250 in. * Coil bind: 1.130 in. * Rate: 447 I calculated the coil bind to be at 1.75-1.13= .62" which should be plenty. At .576" lift of the exhaust, i calculated the open pressure to be 391 lbs. Would i be able to run this setup on a stock lifters, or would i have to run comp-r lifters? |
id do the lifters anyway well u got it open dont wanna get it all back together then you have a collapsed lifter.

well i have the cam and springs already in the car. The lifters only have 40k on them and all i will be doing will be rockers and guideplates. If i have to do lifters too, it will take alot longer. Just need to know if the stock lifters can handle that kind of spring pressure at 6500 rpm.

Does anyone know what spring pressures the stock lifters are good to at 6500 rpm?
|
Get the Comp R's. I would not trust the stock lifters with that rpm and cam/spring setup.

How would the stock lifters be on some monster dual valve springs with the stock cam? I bought the car used over a year ago, and it has some beefy dual valve springs with the stock cam, and I'm starting to get worried about collapsing a lifter.

And what about the pushrods? Are the hardened rods in the 95's strong enought to handle the 390 spring pressure at 6500 rpm?
