Cleaning gunk in oil after blown head gasket

Currently have a blown head gasket, rebuilding the top end with Impala head gaskets, ported heads/intake, 1.7RR, lifters, ARP bolts, etc, as well as a new 10% HV oil pump with GM HP spring. I stopped driving it after it blew and it has sat for about 6 months.

Question is this, I already have everything off the top of the motor, how do I clean out all of the thick "milkshake" gunk out of the engine? I don't want that stuff in my new oil.

When you drain the oil for you filter and oil change there wouldn't be much of this coolent left, and it should burn off after you get your engine temps. up to normal. If your still concerned just change your oil again after say 50 m.

Also - when you get everything back together, you can pull the oil plug and dump some WalMart el-cheapo oil through your heads. Let it flow through your motor out into a pan. This will help flush out the water/oil mix and help clear out any dirt that may have gotten inside while you did your work.

I was just worried about what is left in there messing with my bearings. I am replacing the lifters, heads, valvetrain anyway as well as pulling the oil pan off anyway to change the oil pump, I guess I'll pour some cheap oil through it to flush out the leftover gunk, then change the oil after 50 or so miles to make sure its all flushed out.

Hopefully the heads and 1.7RR will give me some nice gains and the oil pump will let my engine live a little longer.

the walmart oil idea sounds like a great idea.
