Clamp or weld?

Should I clamp or weld the pipes that go into my Jet Hot y pipe? I'm welding my cutout into my y pipe. I'm bolting the pipes into the flange, then either clamping or welding the pipes into the y pipe, what do you guys suggest?

I say clamp you never now when you are going to have to take it off.

I agree, clamp--you never know when you need to take things apart. Also, I was told that welding would screw up the Jet-Hot coating--if you ever need it recoated, probably would void the warranty. Also, go to Jegs/Summit and get some stainless steel T-clamps, much better than the regular u bolt clamps or the supplied Jet-Hot clamps. Finally, before bolting it all up, spread copper rtv around the pipe that slides into the larger pipe, clamp it, and let it cure for 24 hours.

What about for my cutout? I plan on putting it where the Y pipe and I pipe meet, I would need to weld that right? Should I find a different spot for it?
