CID of my motor????

If i put in a 383 stroker with .030 over pistions rather than stock what would that make my cid? ( the 383 cid is advertised that it will make 383 cid with stock size pistons)

No, a 383 is a 4.030 x 3.75 motor, I'm going 4.020 x 3.75 which is a 381... a 388 is a 4.060 bore, then your pushing it, walls are gonna get thing and you'll pay for it in the end.

4.000 x 3.75 = 377

ok im lookin to put a 383 stroker in and then do a .030 overbore then i will be putting in a hotcam kit with LT headers and a catback flowmaster american thunder exhaust. I will have my ecm programmed for the setup. How much power/ torque can i look forward to? ( i already have a k&n aircharger, the heads exhaust ports were smoothed and the head was plained .008)
Thanks for all the help.

thats almost exactly what I have in right now. It has 800 miles on it and I'm gonna throw on my cutout and LCA's this week. I plan on taking it to a Dyno in about a month. I'll let you know.

what exactly are you running? How much more umph does your motor have since the 383 is in place now?? See my plan was to buy a 383 stroker kit that used a std size piston but instead im opting for a .030 over piston to try to give me a few more cubes? any close estimate of the cid in the end?

Dude I spelt it all out for you in my first post.

4.000 = 377ci
4.010 = 379ci
4.020 = 381ci
4.030 = 383ci
4.040 = 384ci
4.050 = 386ci
4.060 = 388ci

Asumming you have a crank whose stroke is 3.81" and a bore of 4.00 to get 383ci. A 4.030" bore with the same crank (at 3.81") you would be 388.79 ci.

Were you talking to Larnach or me???

If it was me I got Eagle 4340 crank and H-beam rods with SRP pistons. My motor has a crap load more UMPH. My son was in it the other day and I nailed it. He tells me "Dad...why does my head hit the seat so hard now?" I asked him if it feels like its faster and he said "oh way faster".

You'll have a 383.

Yeah, I saw a hotcam guy with a 383 put over 410rwhp down.

Not bad at all.

I love it. I'm glad I didn't go bigger cause this is my everyotherday car and I didn't want it too raunchy. I can't wait to get her to the track in the next couple weeks.
