This is for my friend actually. He has a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. He wants to start modding it a little, but he doesn't have many options. He just bought a K&N fipk, and a Borla catback. He wants to know if a chip would be a good upgrade for it. Does anybody have any experience with the 5.3L engine with a chip? The chip is a Hypertech chip he said.

I know this isn't a LT1 question but i didn't think the lounge would be a good spot for it either. Thanks.

 

I don't have any experience modding the 5.3 engines but they are essentialy an LS1 engine, the 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0 all share the same basic design as the 5.7LS1. You may want to try asking in the LS1 tech section or there is an LS1 truck engine forum over at LS1.com where your friend could probably find really good info.
