checking for vaccuum leakss

what is the best way i think i have one coming off my intake i replaced my egr.. i can hear it sucking.. whats the best way to check

You can spray some fuel injector cleaner or use a propane torch (not lighted ). Or you can check hoses with a Mityvac or similar tool.

I was the original person that suggested this test way back around 98/99 (at least nobody ever mentioned this trick till I did. I also think I started ATI using the self-contained oiling system but that's another story). I was thinking a non-flammable solution would be easier and safer. Just a mist of water from a spray bottle would work. A bad leak would cause a simple sputter. It would not cause a fluid lock or a crack like some boozo suggested.
