Checking Fuel Pressure?

How do I check my fuel pressure?

You need to go down to the local parts depot and pick up a fuel pressure guage.
On the back of the manifold there is a schrader valve that your guage screws onto, you might want to put a rag around it as some fuel will come out.
Once the guage is hooked up turn the key to the run position and the guage should read about 40 psi or so, start the car and it should drop to about 36 to 38 or so, then pull the vacuum hose off and it should jump to about 46 to 48.
Also let it sit with the guage hooked up and the car off and see how long it holds the pressure.

you need a fuel pressure guage, (can be found at auto store for around $30) you screw a hose from the guage onto the schrauder(sp) valve which is located on the back of the engine. go to shoeboxes website for a picture of the location of it http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/4th_gen_tech1.html

good luck

Dan
