Checking Codes?

I am looking to be able to check my computer for codes pretty soon. I have a 1994 and I have seen that they are OBDI but I have also seen some of them have an OBDII connector? Where can I get it tested or where can I actually purchaser the tester?

Only the 95's had OBDI with the OBDII connector, yours has the regular OBDI 12 pin.

As for a code reader, I bought a ScanMaster off thunderracing.com for $250 that's turning out to be a handy little gadget. It monitors pretty much anything that has a sensor on your car.

I have an online writeup on scanners for OBD-I and OBD-II. The links tend to be out of date, but it will give you an idea of the options on hardware and software systems.

Scanners for 4th Gens

After you connect your scanner, this document might help you understand the data and how to use it:
