changing O2 sensor
Is it hard to change the O2 sensor because is running really rich
|
As long as you are sure it's your 02 sensor, no they are not hard to change. They just bolt into the exhaust pipe. You might have to use something like PB Rust (spray in a can from Autozone). And in some cases you do have to use a propane torch to heat them up to get them loose. But, pretty straight forward.

Re: Re: changing O2 sensor
Originally posted by Bastardcat O2's can be a little difficult as far as them not wanting to come out. I used PB Blaster as was mentioned and let it sit overnight. I've heard that an O2 Socket makes the job easier. I got an O2 socket from summit. I put it on my o2, and turned. The ****ing thing cracked in half! Fracture all the way down the damn socket so its useless. I called summit and told them im sending it back, and he said he cant give me money back for it...WTF, IT BROKE. So I sent it back anyways, and if I dont get my money, im complaining and bitching! Also, buy stock GM O2's...I got the catco aftermarket ones from them and they werent good. BUy O2's from Jason cromer. |
I've never used an O2 socket. They look like they are bound to break. If you really want one, autozone has it on loan a tool I believe.
