changing the coolant

Ok, I took off the radiator cap and then removed the two bleeder screws and put a towel around the lower one to catch spilling coolant. I have the car raised up and I went under the car trying to undo the radiator drain plug. I think I found the thing, it's black and has a little protruding part with a hole in the end. But how the hell am I supposed to get it off??! I tried unscrewing it by hand but it's too tight, then used pliers still no luck. So what do I do to get this off? Am I even in the right place? thnx in advance..

Ok I just looked @ shoebox's website and I'm trying to unscrew the right thing. But why is it so tight?? Is it a traditional screw, where you turn it counterclockwise to unscrew and vice versa to tighten. It just won't come off. I can see where the previous owner had problems trying to get the valve cover off, since there's scrapes all over the cover.

Mine was on tight like a ****. My truck is the same way. Thing bonds or some sh*t to the radiator... lol. Not sure what to recommend b/c I'm afraid penetrator might dissolve it somewhat??? Not sure... maybe try some wd-40 as it's a light penetrator. Make sure you're turning it the right way... after all you are laying upside down lol...

If you wanna do this right, you're gonna need to pull the block drain plugs on either side. They are a b*tch to get to!

I'll see what putting some wd40 does to it tomorrow after I get off work.
