I was just wondering if cc 305 out of a 94 z will work in my 96 z. The reason I ask is the dowel pin concern for the opti. becuase both years were different. Could the dowel be changed to a longer dowel

You'll need the long dowel pin for 95+ models that have vented opti. Take it to a machine shop and ask them to fix a pin that is 0.620" from the face of the cam.

 

Or call Comp Cams they will send one. When I upgraded to vented opti I had to do this and I used Vise grips on old pin and i came right out to my suprise.
