Cautious about getting cold air intake for 94 camaro z28

I have been hearing a lot lately that putting a cold air on an LT1 can be bad if you go threw a puddle and it will suck water into the engine. Should I be concerned to get the K&N?

Ive never had any kind of issues with my slp cai. I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't drive a performance car through huge puddles. Problem solved.

I have had a K&N for years with no probs. My filter is directly behind the driver side head lamps. It is really not that low !

You could spend more money and time and go ram air or convert to ls lid. My guess is the reward is worth the risk because many cai are on the lt1 cars. Im sure you wouldnt want to run it in deep water but neither would I with my ram air(for plenty of other reasons). My dad has a filter on his jeep with a sleeve or cover that breathes and helps from sucking mud and water(not that I would run it on a performance car unless its a proven performer with no restriction but thats something to consider in the wet season if worried or ever became a problem.

i have the k&n fipk on my 94 (which is a daily driver), the only issue i have in the rain is the rain water mixes with oil from the filter and "bonds" to the maf, air foil and throttle blades. never any water in the engine, though.

I've never had a problem. But there was this one time when there was a downpour and the street had about 5" of standing water on it. I parked in a lot off to the side and waited for the water to recede.

They do make valves that (supposedly) close if water starts to get sucked in, but I bet there's some fabrication involved to get everything to fit.
