Car Won't Start--Fuel Pump Issues--Help
Hi, I have a 95 Camaro Z28. I have driven it all winter, sometimes in subzero temperatures, and it has never failed me. I drove it to school today, came back at the end of the day, and it wouldn't start. I am 100% sure it's my fuel pump. Electrical is fine, it turns over, but it cant really start the engine itself. I can press on the gas and it makes a difference. But the car won't start and it's about 40 degrees out here now. What gives? What do I need to do?

put 12 volts directly to fuel pump prime connector to see if it is the pump, u should hear it come on if does still work.
the connector is on passenger side near strut tower. there is a pic of it on shoebox's web site |
thanks, now if it does work, then???

Also what do you mean by put 12 volts right up to it? Like touch the end of the connector with a 12 volt battery and try to start the car? Sorry, sometimes ya gotta spell it out for me.

if that works, at least u know you dont have to replace your pump. :)
if it isnt your pump though, it might be the injectors. first test the pump, then go from there and yes, connect your positive terminal on your battery to the prime connector. i used the wires that come with my voltage/ohm meter. doesnt really matter though |
