car wont start
car wont start
probably getting sick of me keep asking questions i just replaced the opti spark and made sure the dowel was correctly placed in so i put it all back together and started it up and all it does is just turn over. I took off the coil wire and replaced it and my plug wires. I took off a spark plug to see if it would arch and it didnt. I took off the optispark and the dowel is in the correct position dont know why its not working anything suggestions on what it might be
me and another guy on here are having similar issues and ares might just be a bad PCM.
Do you have spark anywhere?
If I were in your shoes at this point, I would go to harbor freight or advanced and buy a noid test light kit. should run you less than 15$

well when i had it put back together i had no spark anywhere which makes me think the opti dowel isnt positioned right is there a different way you can position it easier or could it be a faulty ground i didnt put back on
I had bought and installed my opti 4 times before ruling it out. I put a piece of gum in the opti dowel to make sure the cam was going in. If you look a few post under this, under a member named IPRICE, you can assess your situation from his.
Not sure about the ground, but could be a possibility.
I am still all for the noid light, its a very simple procedure.just unclip a fuel injector clip and plug the light in. Start the car and see if the noid light lights up.
If it doesnt light up, the PCM is not sending the signal. Either due to, PCM not getting signal from opti, or wires from opti to PCM are bad. If it does light atleast you know you are getting fuel and can rule the PCM out and now you would know that it is the ignition system at fault.
