Car Won't Start

 95 Z Auto. When I turn the key, nothing happens, no click, doesn't turn over in park or neutral. The battery is good, connections are good, all of the lights come on in the dash, just won't start. We jumped the terminals at the starter and it turned over but didn't stay running with the key on. So there is plenty of power to start it. I'm pretty sure it's not the starter or solenoid. The security light is flashing on the dash and I can't remember if that was what it did before starting or not. All fuses are good, is this a VATS thing or lock cylinder issue? It's pretty irritating as I was in the staging lanes getting ready to try my new converter. :irk:

Happen to me. The Car wouldent start and the Security light came on. Its either the key, or the ignition where the key goes in. My problem wasnt the key it was the Ignition. Had to take it to the Chevy Dealer cuz they had to program a new key and ignition.

Well, it ended up being a broken wire in the column. What a joke those 2 wires are, they are really really too thin. Thanks for th e help.
