car wont start
i just replaced the optispark about 3 or 4 weeks ago and it has been running fine .i was heading home last night and when i stoped at a light it shut off on me . so i start it back up and drive home . i go to start it today and it wont start . its getting spark from the coil and it is getting spark to the plugs . its getting fuel to the rail and you can smell it . i even replaced the coil just because . anyone have any ideas on this
thanks jason |
Could be the ICM (the heatsink looking thing behind the coil, its about 2 inchs long...)
or maybe the opti took another crap.. Did you check for codes? Did you clear the previous codes from before? |
When is the last time you replaced the plugs? They could be fowled. Might want to try starting the car up and pumping the gas a little to get it running. What psi is your fuel pressure at? You might be getting fuel but not enough. Let us know if this works.

It sounds like a burnt plug wire to me.

you can use this link to test all the functions of the Ign and fuel system as well as a few other things that might help. http://mainstreamtopics.com/forum/in...p?showtopic=78
My advice however is to get a fuel pressure gauge, just cause you can smell fuel doesn;t mean that your getting the right amount |
i have a fuel pressure gauge that how i know its getting fuel it 38psi.it wont start at all . when my opti went bad i could tap on it and it would start up . it wont do that now . thanks for the help. is there any way to check the icm .

that pressure is a touch low, does it hold that pressure when you let it sit or doeas it bleed down?
