Car Stalls?

Man I have'nt been on here in a while! I got question for you guys.I bought my wife a 96 SS with a T56.Shortly after I bought it the tranny went out.I pulled it out and it took me a while to get to it because of so many other things.Car set up for about a month and a half until I could rebuild it.When I finally got done and installed it it ran great for the first 10 minutes or so.When I pulled in the drive way at home it stalled on me.I started it back up and thought maybe it was just too low on gas.So I rushed up to the store and fill it with some fresh gas. When I left the store it stalled on me right as I pulled out on the highway. Then the battery was dead.I thought that was all of my problems. The battery checked good so I put a new alternator on it.THe alternator fixed my charging problems but i'm still having probelms.
Now i've really let it set up due to everything else in the world that's been going on.About a month ago I figured i'd get back on it.I started it up and it seemed to run like a top. Then the belt slung off.I replaced the belt and it seemed like all was good.I started to back out of the driveway and it stalled again. From what I can remember about it,I could crank it and it would run great till I tried to move.Car would rev good and idle fine.Seems like some times I may have even had to prime it a few times before it would crank.I think the first thing I will try is a fuel filter. Before I get my hands into this thing again anybody have any ideas?
Thanks fellas
James

too many variables to try and give you somewhat of a clue. are you positive the clutch is disengaging fully?

You say the battery is good eh? It may be good but is it GOOD? You have it in the trunk so is it well grounded and powerful enough to do the job, since you can just juice up a battery with the alternator. Just a thought.

I would put a fuel pressure gauge on there and see what it is at when the car is stalling. Then go from there.

This is a different car than in my signature. This is my wifes car.Battery is in the factory location and is good as in GOOD.Definately not the clutch.Thats what I do for a living. Its not bogging the motor down just stalling.Feels like a fuel problem.I'm going to throw a fuel filter on it and if that doesn't get me anywhere then I plan to check the fuel pressure.I would go ahead and check the pressure but I can't find my guage so I may have to buy another one.
Thanks again,
James
