Car shuts down at 70mph

Does anyone have any ideas on this? '94 Trans Am LT1 Stock
Here are the details: Car runs completely normal untill 70 mph is reached, then engine shuts down like you turned the key off!
Car slows a little then you give it some gas and it comes back to life.
These are the only facts I was given by a friend of mine, It has been looked at (and computer changed out) and no one can figure out the problem.
I am sure at this point he would like any opinions. Thanks!

Ask him how many RPM's he's spinning when the cutout occurs.

Like a speed governor, ....but apparently the car never had this problem before, so I don't think that would be it. (?)

Man that sure does sound like a speed limiter.....what I would do is disconnect the battery for a few mins to reset the pcm . If that dosent work it may have something to do with VSS (variable speed sensor).

The PCM was switched out.... Still cuts out.
Where is the variable speed sensor?

just a thought but maybe a clogged fuel filter. had a car that would run nice and normal until i got on the gas to get on the highway and about half mile down the road the thing would stall because the filter would calapse. after it died the pressure would release and the filter open back up and would start back up.

just had an update through a friend, don't have all the details but it was looked at by an old mechanic that used to work for Pappy Huff and Don Garlitz. He unscrewed a (sensor?) BY the Mass air flow and cleaned the wires with brake fluid, I asked if it was the wires in the MAF, he said no, it was something else with "loops?"
I'll be darned if I know what he's talking about but he took it to 70 and the the thing runs perfect now!
(I love a good mystery)
Thanks for the opinions, ......(I sure am curious what has "loops")
