Car runs fine cold, but warms up and runs sluggish? Delteq?
Car runs fine cold, but warms up and runs sluggish? Delteq?
Okay, let me fill you in. This is a 1993 Camaro Z28. The only mods I've yet to do is a 12-bolt, a shortblock, and a blower. It's got a Delteq DIS and a trunk-mounted battery. My car runs BEAUTIFULLY when the engine is cold-- full power awesome throttle response, etc. Once the engine warms up, it runs like crap-- sluggish @ a low RPM, occasional misfires, and feels like it loses about 75 hp, at least until you get into the higher RPM's (3000+). Also, when this problem occurs, the voltmeter slowly drops 2 "bars" on the gauge (the hotter the underhood temps, the lower the voltmeter reading). Nearly all of my engine sensors have been replaced. I spoke with a couple local mechanics, and they both think that it's the ignition module, however, my OE module was replaced by the one provided by Delteq. Could this have gone bad?? Is this my problem? Or are there other possible sources that might cause such problems? I'd really appreciate ANY ideas, because I feel like I've tried everything...

Ignition control module tends to mess up when it gets hot or heat soaked. When mine was going bad it did that.

I found that an O2 sensor wire was chewed up to all hell. Replaced the sensor, reset the ECM, and it seems to be running fine. Not sure if all the kinks are worked out, but it certainly runs MUCH better...
