car prob ...needs direction on fix

ok heres the deal ...i had a 383 built for my car and installed back in may....right after we put the engine in the opti went on me{mind yo the opti was fairly new}....following that i replaced with a reman one that blew apart in a couple months.....after that i put in one from summit that lasted 1 day....i epoxied the opti back together and worked fine but then the shaft that turns my waterpump broke and i had to switch to electric which wasnt all a bad thing since the electric is much better......well here it is afew weeks later and about a month on my bandaided opti and i think it blew again....all of which is occuring when i go 3/4-wot at about 5-6000...my car litterally shifts at about 7000 wot and i know its built to go that hight but i cant figure what is blowin apart the opti's and what snapped my wp drive shaft....any help or suggestions would be great

Yet your dowel pin on the cam is too long and breaking the opti. Opti's arent really that bad its mostly people that do cam swaps and dont check the pin that break em.

Re: car prob ...needs direction on fix

well pulled the front cover off and what i found is not good....the chain broke and my crank spocket lost most of its teeth and my timing cover was broke.....what my builder figures happened is the waterpump gear slid forward and took out the chain....now heres the confusing part for me....he things it was caused by "harmonic vibration" from my loud exhaust......now i'm running a 383 through pacesetter lt's and a loudmouth catback......is this a possibility???also we are now discussing the fact that he feels that my tb and injectors are to much for my car...i'm running 58 tb and 30 lb inj...any thoughts on these for a 383???

That's a new one on me. I guess every race car needs mufflers to keep from breaking stuff in the engine.
How do those NASCAR guys do it?!
