Can't pull error codes from connection under dash!!

Just as the subject says, I can't pull error codes. I went to Autozone, got them to plug in their OBD-2 scanner ... the thing wouldn't even turn on. Tried plugging into a different vehicle and it went right through. Is there a fuse that this connection runs through? I need to know what error codes i'm throwing or else I'm screwed. Thanks!!

Check pin 16 of the DLC (bottom right, orange wire) for power. It is powered off the cigarette lighter fuse.
