can wheel bearings be swapped side to side ?

can wheel bearings be swapped side to side ?
i want to flip my wheel bearings to test if they're giving me troubles. is this safe to do? or will they grind themselves up because they're going against the wear paturn?

Why not just buy one and torgue it properly? Why waste your time swapping.

Your problems not from the bearings BTW.
