Can low A/C cause car to run bad?
Can low A/C cause car to run bad?
My car has been giving me fits since I did my cam swap. I've tried everything I could think of but nothing worked. It finally got so hot here that I had my A/C charged after it was opened from pulling the engine. All of a sudden the car runs like a charm. ???
Re: Can low A/C cause car to run bad?
Just last week I took my car to fill up for gas. I have had no problems with the car for quite awhile except that I had a leak in my a/c line. After I filled up with gas, the car would not start at all. It would crank, but would not start. I went inside and bought a new battery. I then replaced it in the parking lot. Still would not start. Guess what I ended up replacing?
My A/C compressor! It had locked up and would not allow the car to turn over. If there is not enough freon in the system there is also not enough lubricant. The way I confirmed the bad compressor was to take my drive belt off....started right up. Now I have an A/C delete pulley in there and it runs better than ever.
