Can this be done?
Remove the stock crank pulley and crankshaft hub, install a regular SBC damper in the hub's place, then bolt a billet underdrive pulley to the SBC damper? Are the bolt spacings on a SBC damper the same as an LT1 crank pulley?
I'm changing my accessories around and I need the crank pulley to be spaced further out from the block to line up with the other pulleys, and I'd rather take my chances doing it with a solid pulley and spacers rather than moving the whole stock damper. I also like the idea of having the huge array of choices in SBC aftermarket dampers at my disposal. Thanks. |
Re: Can this be done?
Does anybody have a SBC balancer that they could compare with the bolt spacings on an LT1 balancer to see if they match up?

I don't believe that you can.
Have you thought about getting someone to machine you a billet spacer to stick between the stock pulley and hub? You would just need longer bolts. |
