cam and intake????

I am thinking about putting a cam in my '96 Z28. I live in CA. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could put in it and still meet smog? I don't want to go too big. I'm also going to add 1.6 RR, LT4 springs, and an LT4 knock sensor.

Second, just out of curiosity, will the intake manifold from an LS1 fit on an LT1 engine? If so, what would the differance be?

Thanks a lot,
Jason

Thumbs up

DEFINITELY go Hot cam kit

1. Good Price
2. Good Power
3. Emissions Legal
4. Sounds cool
5. Very Driveable

And the previous post was correct, the LS1 intake is designed totally different from an LT1.

I wouldn't bother with an intake until u get heads, so that u can get a port matched intake.

I've heard good stuff about the Hot Cam. If you by the kit, what all comes with it? Do you have to do any special programming for it?

cam, rokers, springs, retainers, locks, and all gaskets and you have to get tuning and suggest that you get brian at
www.pcmforless.com to do it

he did a lot of friends and my dads and mine is on the way to him

do a complete LT4, good power, yet still very streetable.....LT4 Intake is the only thing u can upgrade to on LT1s, and then the Hotcam is really good too....LT4 heads aren't the best, but they are an improvement i guess.

Alright, I'm going with the peer pressure. Where is the cheapest place that I can order the Hot Cam kit? I'm in the military and I just got stationed back in the states and I haven't seen my car in over a year. Now that I have it back, I have to make up for lost time!

Thanks for the help guys.

Just checked on his price for the Hot Cam Kit and it's $475 plus shipping. That's the cheapest you'll find.

Thanks for the info guys. I think I can deal with that price. What type of HP gain are we talking about here. I'm hopping that it will be enough to give me a chub when I get it in and get on it.

again thanks,
Jason
