cam install
I really want a cam,but I don't think I can install it it myself.I don't have a hoist or other kinds of tools I probably need.I was wondering what can I expect to pay a shop to do it,or If a guy at work did it.Just a estimate, and If you guys had it done, what were you charged.Do you prefer a specific cam.

What do you need a hoist for? You can install a cam with the engine in the car. Y ou will have to remove the radiator and move the a/c condesor out of the way. You really don't need many specialized tools other than a harmonic balancer puller and a torque wrench. Just buy a good manual and take your time. The experience will be good for you. Most places will rape you in labor. I've seen between $500-1000 for cam installs. Find a buddy or someone here on this list to help you. You might get away with pizza and a 6 pack to help you. As per cam choice, that depends entirely what your expectations are and what you want out of it. If you want a cam for more power but still use it as a daily driver, get an LT4 hot cam or CC305. If you want a nasty 1/4 cam, go with a XE grind or CC306 (I have a 306 and it is the largest cam I would use personally for a daily driver). Good luck. :D

Once you get the radiator out of the way, you can install the cam. Some people remove the hood latch, but you actually dont need to, although I had my dowell pulled out (vice grips) and used a little bit of angle, just make sure you dont mark up your bearings while doing so, so go slow and carefull.
