Cam Advice.

I have 3:42 gears and will never go higher than 3:73. This is a daily driver, so I don't want it to be to crazy...but I do want something more than just a hot cam.

I have all bolt on mods, and will soon be putting some fully ported heads on, with 2.0x1.55 valves.

So what do you guys suggest I go with?

Also PM me if you have a cam that meets my requirements that you would like to sell.

Re: Cam Advice.

If you plan on putting on heads, do it all at once. A heads/cam combo from elliotportworks.com or advancedinduction.com is the only way to go. If you do an off the shelf cam now, you wont get the full potential out of the heads that you will install later. Not to mention you dont want to have to tear the engine down twice.

I would definetly do it all at once.

Have the heads flowed if you havent already. Then give the flow numbers to Joe Overton or Bret Bauer and have them make a cam to match your heads. Either that or get a comp 306 grind.

Re: Cam Advice.

With an M6 if you bother to swap gears go with 4.10 the .050 OD tames them very well like 16-1700rpms at 65mph. Keeping lower gears will only serve to make 6th less useful. I agree on the custom cam recommendations, you will do better that way than with an off the shelf and the cost will likely be little more.

Re: Cam Advice.

I didn't think Joe (Joes94ta) was still doing cams for people? Just pm Brett (SStrokerAce) and he can help you out.

Re: Cam Advice.

If you have the budget, go custom. If you want to go off the shelf then
the GM 846 or CC 503 are worth considering as a step above the hot cam.

Re: Cam Advice.

There is a 503 and a 305 he probably meant the 503 since that is what he typed.

Re: Cam Advice.

I didn't even know there was a 503. I just figured he meant 305 because he said a step above a hotcam.

If you are going with a 350 or 355 then you will need more than the 846
or 503 have to offer. Quite a step up from your original comment of
something more than a hot cam. More like something about three steps
more. This is assuming you mean RWHP. It's looking more like a cam/heads
matched combo is your best bet, and you will be far from a daily driver.
No passing smog for that motor.

Not worried about smog, but not sure why it couldn't be a daily driver. Right now I'm making 336rwhp, and 365 torque with only rockers and headers, I would think it be possible to hit 400rwhp as a daily driver.

Re: Cam Advice.

If you want to hit 400 rwhp and keep the most drivability, then a custom cam is in order. Joes website is www.lethalefi.com and you can just pm bret like said above.
