Re: C5 T56

Nope, the C5 uses a trans axle version of the T56. Completely different.

Re: C5 T56

One day about 100 years from know when school is over and I can save some money, I want to do an auto to stick swap. Would it be better to buy a stock Viper T56 or a LT1 T56 and mod it?

Re: C5 T56

You can buy an LT1 T56 and have it built with the Viper input shaft and shift rods. There's also a company now who makes a 5-6 gear piece that isn't a single piece. It's also alot stronger and they can build it with just about any gear combination you want.

Con... it ain't cheap.

Here's the article.

Oh, almost forgot, McLeod makes bellhousing adapters to mount just about any T56 (viper, LT1 f body, LS1 F body, mustang) behind nearly any V8 (dodge, GM, ford).
