Living here in hell, my car tends to run very hot sometimes. With the A/C on and sitting in stop-and-go traffic, the car will approach 220-230 (not that hot..but I have a 160* stat and fans are programmed...). As soon as the car approaches ~ 220*, the A/C will turn off. Is there a relay that controls this or is the compressor just plain overheating?
