A/C help

where is the low pressure cutoff switch for the a/c on a 95Z? the high pressure switch is right there. also, does anyone know which wires to jump to kick the compressor on. it is low on freon, hopefully, and i got to get this thing pumping before i sell it. thanks

Re: A/C help

There is alot more to it than that on the camaro. First off, the three wire switch you are seeing on the line is a pressure switch that reads the high and low cutoff pressures and relays this to the ECM via 5volt reference signal interpretation. Then, the ECM will cycle the compressor if the reading is correct. The catch is that the ECM will store a trouble code if the pressure goes too low or too high and it WILL NOT cycle the compressor until the code is erased. The SES light will never come on during this process so you will have to scan it. Read the codes, if there is a code for a/c see what it is and if it says pressure is low, code 61, you will need to check pressure and add r134 if necessary. REMEMBER, you must erase code before the compressor will cycle again. Try this first and I will assist you from there.
