Building a streetable 355...Need help

I have a 96 Z with 94k on the clock. Got a lifter or 2 ticking like a tim bomb. Time to go inside... Need some advice.

Everything on the outside has been replaced. Ignition, fuel....all new.

I want a very fast street car that is not impossible to drive on the street. The car is a vert. Only thing I need to do to the suspension is a T/A and 9" when the time comes.

To start, I want to go with a forged 355 so I can spray if the urge hits.
From there I am torn on the heads on down. Suggestions and why, please.

Thanks

If your going to buy a rotating assembly, make it a 383. A 9 inch is not needed unless you are a six speed car and plan on dumping the clutch on slicks at 5500 rpm.

Go with the proven LE or AI series of packages.

There ya go.

Without track times, your statement "wicked fast" is useless. I do agree though, a big cam does not always make for a fun or fast car.

Agreed.

As to the question - forged stock rebuild + boost and call it a day. Run a small gear, get good gas mileage, completely streetable as in daily driver streetable, and enjoy.

I think all he is saying is that wicked fast to you might be snail slow to me whereas a timing clock at least gives one an idea.
