Today I got my dual friction clutch in my car with the heavyweight flywheel that generates alot of torque at high RPM's but I was hammering my car thrue the gears showing off and i was coming from 2nd trying to hit third and instead hit 5th...never happens but when it does look for the bill I was wondering what you guys may think might have happened when it was going into 5th I let up on the clutch and I heard a light snap......that was it i know it was because all the enertia from the flywheel put to much stress on the gear but what do you think the extent of the damage may be ? I wanted to go ahead and buy the parts to fix it with but i know we got to get it apart first .......but what do you think the amount of damage ?

 

Besides making a snap noise, what else is the problem?

Does the tranny shift anymore, are you locked in 5th gear now or what?

Sounds like you possibly could have broken the 5-6 shift fork.

 

well 1st thrue 4th work fine....sixth worked for a few minutes and then stopped it aint making no noise im hoping it is lite damge
