bottom end question
I've got jet-hot LT and noticed a bit of bottom end loss, but is mad crazy up top. I've got a 3inch mandrel bent ORP. I first had the stock catback, then uprgraded to just a hooker aerochamber muffler. The muffler help alot but i feel as if it should be better than it is. Should i get a 3inch intermediate pipe, or will i lose more bottom end. Could i have too much back pressure or not enough right now? I don't think so cuz everytime i open the exhaust more it helps. Except when i put a 2 3/4' cutout on. It lost alot of bottom end.

Go with a 3inch intermediate pipe and a good 3inch cat back system and you should get your low end back. As far as the cut out goes, you have nearly no back pressure with it and that's why you loose bottom end. At the same time you will see a major gain in the higher RPM range wich is good for the track but not good for the street. I would leave the cut out caped for the street and run through your cat back, and for the track go ahead and uncap.

Thanks for the reply.
But i already got the hooker aero chamber muffler. Should I weld on a mandrel bent 3 inch I-pipe or leave the 2 3/4. Will it make that much differance in performance and sound? |
Go ahead and get the y-pipe, it will help with both performance and sound. The 2 3/4 stock pipe is kinked up and does not flow very well.

I stated in my first post that i already have a 3 inch mandrel bent catless y-pipe.
