Borla Warranty...HELP!
Borla Warranty...HELP!
Howdy,
Last night i tried switching out the adjustable cat back exhaust plates. In the process i broke off all 3 bolts with the long handle wrenches and tried to drill them out. They didn't come out so im going to oxy torch them this afternoon in our shop class...my question is should i call Borla about this right now and see if they would replace the back passenger side tailpipe? or just go ahead and risk enlarging a bolt hole? Also all of the coupler deals (hold the two pipes together for a good seal) are starting to CRACK apart...the exhaust came with the car when i bought it about a month ago but borla should still cover the warranty right? This is unsatisfactory from my standpoint...the car doesn't even have 90,000miles on it and their saying the exhaust should last a million? The front half of the exhaust (until it splits in the rear to the dual tips) is fine...but from the dual tips/muffler/and pipe joining both of them to the single pipe that goes all the way to the back of the car is pretty much ruined...can someone help me out with this please?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Borla Warranty...HELP!
I have dealt with borla's warranty. I called them, told them which parts I needed and they sent them out a.s.a.p. No problems, no questions asked. But remember this, they will give you a customer service number that you have to write on the box you ship the old parts back. make sure you send them back everything, by everything I mean even the broken bolts! If you dont, they will charge you for the bolts and washers, with a credit card that they make you put on file. They will ship you out new bolts and everything, if you dont plan on using their bolts, buy your own, and ship them back the same bolts they send you ....Good luck.
Re: Borla Warranty...HELP!
As far as the bolts, it'll be far easier in the long run if you just drill them out, and replace them with longer bolts with washers/nuts on the back. I'd bug Borla about the cracking plates though...

Re: Borla Warranty...HELP!
Hey thanks for the help and whatnot...i blasted the bolts out with an oxy torch at school, not the cleanest blow outs but i doubt they'd replace the rear "y" pipe section and the passenger side tip. If they do, more power to me!
Ive got some pieces of the bolts left over, i used a cutoff wheel, broke 4 drill bits, air chisel, etc. im thinking the previous owner never used anti sieve...stupid guy, lol. Hopefully they'll replace the coupler deals for sure...they look like their about to fall apart.
