hanger on passenger side. Driver side is same but gerry-rigged until my place's welding machine is repaired.

Not a chance, they will claim normal wear and not an actual failure. It looks like the metal has fatigued and broke maybe as a result of stress. You are also talking about the entire muffler and right side tubes, you have the old Borla like I do. Just weld it.
