Bogging/Starving
Bogging/Starving
I recently bought a '93 T/A automatic with an unknown amount of miles on it. The odometer says 142,xxx but it hasn't moved since I got it, so it could be a lot more.
So, once while I was in the curves and accelerating out of the curves it kinda bogged. Then last night it happened immediately after coming over a speed "lump" kinda hard.
Any ideas?

Re: Bogging/Starving
Hmmmmmm. Actually, I haven't. I'm old, so I wasn't thinking that would have anything to do with it. But with today's PCMs, I guess anything could be taken into consideration. I'll check it out. Thanks!
Re: Bogging/Starving
Actually... it wouldn't have anything to do with the PCM. If you're fluid drops to a certain point... it seems like the torque converter isn't filling properly and it starts "bogging". I just went through the same thing with my Grand Cherokee. It was bogging around corners/curves and it was also bogging under hard braking. It got to the point where it was stalling at stop signs and redlights. I thought it had something to do with the fuel, but it ended up being low on tranny fluid... I was about 2 quarts low. After I filled it up, everything went back to normal. My leak was coming from the trans. pan.
I would have never thought of it... but after about a few weeks of wondering, a light finally went off in my head and told me to check the fluid.
Good luck.

Thanks for the education! Sho nuff, I checked it hot with the engine running and it was at the bottom of the hot mark/top of the cold mark. I guess I run out to Auto Zone or O'Reilly today.
