Blinker bulb problem!?
Blinker bulb problem!?
Hey my blinker went ka-put and my mechanic says cuz the socket in one of my rear lights burnt out or is just toasted. So I guess i have to replace the socket along with a new bulb. Does this sound normal? If so ... anyone know what parts i would need exactly to fix this myself? Difficult at all?
Before you replace the socket check the black ground wire on the non-working socket. Wiggle the wire around, and the blinker might work again. But if you dont want to mess with it just get a new socket from a dealer or good parts place, or you could also go to a junkyard and get one for like $1.
It's pretty common from what I hear. I've had to replace 3 of mine over the past year. Well, maybe not had to, but did it when problems occured just to keep from a recurring problem. Like sp528 said, you can get them really cheap from most junkyards.
