Better to use stock RR's rather than 1.6's with cc306 on stock heads??

Trying to save a little cash. Would I gain anything goin to 1.6 RR's rather than sticking with the stock RR"s with the CC306 cam and stock heads? Basically would it be worth it to buy 1.6's for the cc306 with my stock heads?

i wouldn't run the stock rockers with any cam other than stock for safety reasons. besides that, you're going to change the valve springs anyhow and it wouldn't be worth it to put the stock rockers back on.

Someone on here gained like 26 HP with 1.6 RRs and the LT4 KM....not sure what his cam was, but it's certainly worth the $$.

The reason GM put roller rockers in the LT4 was that the LT1 rockers were not suitable for high rpms so they are probably a poor choice for the CC306.

Robbie, the stock rockers are not rollers, they are stamped steel. I would not run them with anything bigger than the stock cam...they are not designed for high-lift applications at all.

You could run into clearance problems between the rocker stud and the slot ends in the bottom of the rocker arm. I would go ahead a replace them if it were me.
