Best plugs and wires
I wondering what th ebest plugs and wires are for the car, I dont really mind spending the extra buck for the "good stuff". I heard MSD wires are the way to do not sure on the plugs though. You guys let me know. Thanks Cory

Taylor's OVC wires work great for me.

a lot of guys use the Taylor OVC wires so they do not burn them on headers, but if you are careful you can get a better wire. I do not know what the best is, but I have been using the Accel Extreme 9000 Wires for a few years now and like them.
For plugs, you have not said what your plans are for the car. If you are not running a NA setup, NGK is the way to go. If you are running a Naturally Asprated car, I would just run an AC Delco Rapidfire Platinum plug. |
NA car, nothing to extreme for modding yet. know what i mean, doesnt msd make good wires though, and why are these plugs so cheap, i though a good set of would be 7-8 bucks a piece, thats what i paid for th elast set but i dont think those had a very good reputation on our cars so im staying away from those, how bout a poll what do you use in you r car NA. thanks a million Cory

i have never used the msd wires, so i cannot comment. the NGK and Autolite plugs are cheap because of the old design, they are not platinum or iridium like your $4-$8 plugs. people like them because they are cheap and you cannot use platinum with N2O. the main problem with these cheap plugs is that they do not last very long compared to the Platinum or Iridium plugs. Personally, I do not understand why people run them on NA motors unless they enjoy changing their plugs. If you are not spraying, get the better plugs and don't worry about pulling them again for a while.

bosch plats and MSDs for me.... cant go wrong with the bosch plats or stock replacement ac delcos if youre like me and dread replacing spark plugs.

well what the heck is the difference between wires and when looking at them how would u rule one over the other?
i will need to buy some soon, so i gotta do a little reaserch |
I use Taylor wires and NGK TR55's. |
I don't think I am going to convince anyone of this. But there is a lot of mythology about wires. I am using a stock set, and they don't seem to impede my cars performance too much! I have also used Taylor's, which were fine. But I get a good deal on stockers and I change them every year anyway. New wires are more important than fancy fires.

I use MSD wires and NGK TR55's :)

taylors for me
|
I have used Stock Wires for a long time and never had any problems now I am using Taylor wires (not the OTV wires just the stock replacement with 8MM) and I dont have anything bad to say about the taylor wires. They work great and were cheaper than stock replacements.
I have used NGK, Autolite and stock plugs and they all work great. Depending on which heat range you go, I would say go with the NGK or go with the Autolite since Autolite seems to be the cheapest one and can be found at most parts stores. Thx, Claude |
I run taylors OVC also
