Best Heads.........

Hey guys...I'm thinking about getting some heads for my stroker and was wondering what would be a good set of heads for my car. I aint looking to go full race or anything. Just a daily driver with some wooop in it. Basically I guess I'm looking for something good for the money not maxed just average after market heads.

Im running Advanced Induction heads on my stock bottom end 141k miles car did 393rwhp last time on the dyno with a/f ratio all over the place  Gonna get it dynotuned again soon to correct everything. Give Phil a holla :D

i thought you porting your own heads. search for nighttrain66 his name is loyd he is near dallas, and does great work, and i garuntee you will not beat the price.

Another vote here for Advanced Induction. 412rwhp on a stock bottom end and all I have was an "Econoport" job. My heads are not all out ported.

AFR's if you have the dough and patience. Then have them ported, that would be the best set up.

Sup Vince.....hahahaha......yep I'm doing them as we speak. Right now I'm looking down at my hands typing and there all black. My wife aint gonna be too happy with the keyboard.
:D It's going okay. Just finishing up the chambers and polishing the exhaust ports.

Hey I wanted to send you some pics of it. PM me your email addy so you can tell me what you think. I didn't take as much off from the guides as you though.

But like I said I was just thinking about it. You know big valves and stuff.

Lloyd Elliott does the best work for the best price...he typically sees ~275/190 with 200cc after porting your stock LT1 heads...

judging by dyno/track results, youre best options seem to be phil at AI or joe overton

lloyd also does great work, but i think phil or joe have a bit of an edge when it comes to the track/dyno numbers.

FacelessZ Sep 30, 2003 04:25 PM

dyno/track #'s are relative...

It just happesn that there aren't many #'s out there for Lloyd...doesn't make him any less credible...he maxes out your stock LT1 heads and benches...I haven't seen ANYONE bench the #'s that he does...now we just need someone to turn around and get your 'dyno/track' #'s...

Ai Sep 30, 2003 04:40 PM

Dyno #'s is where its at... claim yer stuff flows a billion cfm all you want like alot of people do, but when I consistently have your ass by 40hp on the dyno..

Somethin' aint all there, cause this stuff isnt that tough. ;).

S.J.S. Sep 30, 2003 04:49 PM

Not for you Phil......lol. Not all of us can do what you do though.

Hey Phil is it just me or does the majority of the material come out around the guides?

And Boy were you right (as usual). I'm cooming up on 30 hours now with the sonzabiyatches.

preach it phil.

Ai Sep 30, 2003 05:11 PM

I preach nothin, I just enjoy riling the masses now & again who think there's a free lunch out there w/ their name on it :D.

SJS, there's a fair amount of material to remove there, but not THAT much IMO.

30hrs huh :D. I'm not particularly slow & I have an easy 35-40hrs in each set... ;).

I have TPIS / AFR 190 CNC heads, but if I did it all over again I would have saved several hundred $$ and gotten Lloyd Elliot heads. Especially for a daily driver.
