Re: best fuel pump????
You'll find a lot here is subject to opinion. For Easy-as-pie stuff, I'd reccomend contacting:
www.racetronix.com
They can set you up really well. Otherwise, I will reccomend you a fuel pump. I will reccomend in-tank, simply because its easier. One pump. In-line and the stock pump adds to the system and makes it more complicated. You have 3 choices. I personally have used the walbro 255 size pump. Good for 600rwhp or so, and they honestly work well for cheap. Usually a pump can be had with an install kit for like $120 or less. I've seen em as low as $98+shipping on group specials.
GSS340 (255pump)
GSS340M (same as above, but one of the ends was trimmed a little for easier fit on GM cars. works fine - but they discontinued it)
F20000169 (this is the new 255 - supposed to be a literal direct drop in for lt1's)
If you want to buy the pump and do it yourself, I'd contact:
http://www.neweraperformanceparts.com/
They are also a sponser here, and I believe are currently running a special on Walbro in-tank pumps.
Now you're probably wondering how to install it? Look from below the car and think of what you'll have to do to get the fuel tank out of the way. There you go! Or you can be a cheating SOB and do it this way:

Some people hate it. Some people tell you not to do it. It's not the best idea in the world... But I did it carefully on my drop top car and was singing songs of praise at it's completion. After replacing the fuel pump on a 93 GSX (with a trunk access plate like this one) and then dropping the tank and lines on my 94' Bravada a few months later - I made a plate and cut the floorpan on my camaro. There was no contest.
I would reccomend just jumping to the intake walbro 255. Is it overkill? Yes! But does it work? Yes! But you do it once and your fuel pump will keep you going in power for a long time.

Re: best fuel pump????
I am sorta silly but for a somewhat full on race car with fuel cell and external pump i like the Motec / Bosch "blue stripe" pump. Can deliver 390 LPH and is decent priced and will support somewhere in the 500 RWHP range. You may think about adding a second small pump just for the spray. Lean is the kiss of death.

I'll be installing the Bosch pump in a couple of weeks. I scored it from work(Bosch!) and it's going inline because I don't see any way to retrofit it into the tank. Supposedly that thing will support 700 FWHP, so it should be plenty for the power I'll have. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one using this pump.

Or you could just get a weldon pump, dial-a-flow, and regulator. But, you will probably need new lines, and other things that will add up to arround $3000, but you will havea very nice system. Make your life easy, a 255 LPH is plenty for what you want to do.
