Best Book On How to Rebuild Engine
I pulled some of the plugs and did a compression test on one of the cylinders, and I'm thinking I will end up pulling this motor. This was motor was built soup to nuts by Tom Masek, and machined by Shaver Automotive, so I spent some serious money on it. Even though the motor has almost no miles on it, it's been too long to take it back, and I don't really have the cash to pay a builder all over again.
Now, I have the complete engine build sheet, it's been machined, geometry setup, etc, etc, so I was thinking this should be something I can rebuild myself as it should only be something like piston rings, valve seals, head gaskets, etc (I'll do a leakdown test soon). I don't have any issues turning wrenches, so if I pull the motor, I should be able to handle that, right? If so, what's the best book I can buy with detailed instructions? Should I just get a general small block Chevy book, or an LT1/4 specific book?

Re: Best Book On How to Rebuild Engine
so you did a compression test and don't like the results?
I have found this book to be very helpful specific to LT1/4 motor
"How to Rebuild Small-Block Chevy LT1/LT4 Engines" by Mike Mavrigian
