Batt. Dying, and Tranny ?
Okay, for starters, Hey. Just got the car yesterday, 1994 Trans Am, A4.
Now...Yesterday, the battery showed fine. Today, it was low. Went to dinner earlier, and it was in the 'yellow'. Come out from dinner, car won't start. Get a jump, and it's fine. Anything that could cause it to die so quickly?
Second, the transmission...I had the 'Performance' button pressed. Anyway. Was doing about 20mph, maybe 25mph. I went WOT, and it downshifted into 1st, and held it FAR longer than normal. It normally shifts at 5800 or 5900...but it held it to 6100. I let off right away, and it finally went into 2nd. Could that be caused by the battery being low, or is it just something with the tranny?

How many miles are on the car? Did it go up to 6100 and stay there or bounce off the rev limiter?
A lot of times our factory tachometers can be off by as much as 300rpm. Don’t worry about lifting off the gas, just let the tranny do its thing. If it revs to high the rev limiter will trip.
It isn’t uncommon for shifts to get slow as the tranny gets worn. It usually isn’t a problem associated with a dead battery.
Your battery could have been toast when you bought the car. Sometimes when they go, they will hold charge for only a little while.

If it does it again, I'll just let it rev then..It just kind of freaked me out.
The tranny didn't do that until the battery went that low...It was fine the day before. Shifted perfectly.
Ah well...Guess I'll hop over to the store and buy a battery.
